Age UK – Bridging the Gap Project

Bridging the Gap is a project that aims to bring together different generations in the Chaddesden Community in the spirit of understanding and working together to ‘Bridge the Gap’.

The project, funded by the Big Lottery Awards for All and Chaddesden Ward Neighbourhood Board, began in spring of this year with people from Age UK Rock of All Ages Choir, pupils from Lees Brook School and users of Chesapeake Community Centre, coming together to plan and rehearse a show that would demonstrate that people across generations face the same challenges in life and are not so different.

The project culminated in a show on 27 June at Lees Brook School and the Citizens’ Eye team were there from the beginning of the project to record how it all came together and tell the story of ‘Bridging the Gap’.
